A notion of reshaping the current system

One of my colleagues recently asked me what education is and how education can change and uplift our corrupt and plagiarised society. For a few minutes, I thought about it, and I found myself in a very uncomfortable situation because the present times in which we are living are very challenging. People have become mean, materialistic, and greedy, which has turned society into a hellhole. After I heard his question, I was startled because today, every one among us is educated, we all have got degrees, and we are all working in big firms. We follow suit and boot culture of the corporate world, but what are we lacking? Did we miss any classes in our schools, colleges, and universities? As far as I remember, we didn’t miss any. Instead, we passed our exams with flying colors, so why do we need to take this society out of this mess? Who put us in this situation, then? If we are all educated, why do we find ourselves degraded, and why is our society in shambles? Why are we siding with corruption? Even though we know and we’ve been taught to avoid such things, they create unwanted imbalances in a particular society and community. Corruption attacks our culture, social values, integrity, beliefs, and morality. Now coming back to the question of my wonderful friend, he always remains curious about the developments that take place around his sphere. He hails from an orthodox thought school. He always locks horns with the present system. He’s so disturbed by all that corruption and materialism within our people. He claims that If we have been suffering for the last seventy years from all kinds of miseries and atrocities, why aren’t people considering that suffering? Why can’t people use logic and reasoning? These are his beliefs, and he follows an orthodox thought, and somehow I managed to pull something out from the rug. I started explaining to him how education can take us out of this mayhem of materialism and corruption. If you are interested, you can also get my answer to my colleague’s question, which he had posed to me, so here we go "Education is something that creates a spark inside your soul so that you should be able to differentiate between good and bad, knowledge and plagiarism. Education gives you a reason to behold yourself from corruption. Suppose you are from compromising your integrity, honesty, and, more importantly, your existence. It gives you the reason and freedom to choose right from wrong. It gives you the power to judge and ascertain and weigh every individual equally in any society, irrespective of caste, creed, color, and religion. With education, you can uphold the rights of those suffering from inequality, poverty, and communal hatred in today’s world. Mere getting certificates and degrees doesn’t mean that you are educated. Your behavior with others and how you judge the things in your vicinity will make the difference.”
So after I answered his curious question with my interested answer, I somehow calmed his nerves down. He was on the brink of getting vitiated, although he looked very perplexed and was gazing towards the setting sun without blinking his eyes as he listened to my answer. He was satisfied and unsatisfied with me at the same time. As he knows the answer I had provided him, it felt suitable for his ears, but practically speaking, one has consistently failed to put these words into action. He kept gazing at the sun until it was devoured behind the mighty snow-capped mountain, and now he turned his attention towards me and said nothing for a while. I also preferred not to touch his thoughts. Invoking and arousing his mind under these circumstances is as bad as touching a beehive. His questions will start attacking you like disgruntled and disturbed bees. But he couldn’t stop himself. His mind is pretty troubled. Recently I came to know he has started taking some medication as well to calm his nerves down, which is alarming news, and I never bothered to ask him why he’s taking all kinds of drugs, maybe to wade off the silent killer, depression, and anxiety. I’ve not told you something serious about my friend. He tried to finish himself but somehow managed to survive every time. Now he lives under my supervision, and I managed to get him a job at my workplace. His parents died a pretty long time back, and that also put him through a lot of trauma, but I do not think he’s a lunatic or a mad guy. He’s pretty concerned about the degradation of our society. He reads too much stuff and keeps himself updated. He has fewer clothes but more books. He believes that everyone is equal, and he despises the reservation system. He claims to be the first martyr to take a bullet in his chest while fighting against the reservation system. For him, in the present modern world, where everyone enjoys all the facilities and everyone is well aware of each and everything because of the innovative technology like the internet, computers, and all kinds of gizmos and gadgets that one can get their hands on, then why we still have this reservation system in place, I heard him say it many times, this reservation system is so wrong in every way. It demoralizes the hardworking students, and I second his opinion. I also believe the reservation system must end. It’s time to bid farewell to the reservation system, but our government and politicians are deeply corrupt. For their vote bank, they have kept this system alive. People living in far-flung areas, where there was no road connectivity, no proper health care facilities, and no educational institutions, had to cover all the distance by foot. Their parents used to send them far away from their villages to study at colleges and universities in the city. Still, things have changed a lot, every town has a college degree, and now they dont travel on foot anymore. They now the better road connectivity and they drive on those roads with their vehicles, the jobs they secured, and the place they gained by taking the leverage all these years of getting the benefits of being a backward class only on paper. Still, in the practical world, they can buy the whole city. Although I’m not here to create any division here, I can’t stop myself from putting the facts straight, and my friend is desperately waiting for the day when our society gives up on materialism, corruption, and social injustice, and so am I, well I, will let you know more about him shortly. He will continue his stay under my strong vigil so that he won’t put himself in any life-threatening situation again.
